Situated in the western slope of Colorado our location offers a wide variety of different world-class outdoor activities that focus on physical, mental health and well-being while creating unique experiences.
The Jaywalker Expedition Program offers participants a holistic approach to recovery by combining the therapeutic benefits of nature, physical activity, adventure, camaraderie, and skill-building.
The Lodge
This program caters to individuals who need the intensive structure that comes with inpatient treatment but in our open community model.
When it comes to addiction recovery, finding the right treatment plan is crucial. While inpatient and outpatient treatment are the two most common types of addiction treatment, some people don’t quite “fit” into either category. The Lodge is the name of Jaywalker’s partial hospitalization program that caters to individuals who need the intensive structure that comes with inpatient treatment but in the open community model of care.
Some people may need the structure and level of care that come with inpatient treatment while also wanting the flexibility and freedom of outpatient treatment. For those looking for an alternative to traditional inpatient and outpatient treatment, Jaywalker offers a partial hospitalization program specifically for men, located in the beautiful Rocky Mountains in Carbondale, Colorado.
The Lodge offers a clinical multi-modal approach with integrated dual diagnosis programming, complemented by a thriving sober community. Our aim is to provide patients with the necessary time and resources to heal from drug and alcohol addiction while equipping them with practical tools for sobriety in their everyday lives. Within this supportive environment, clients are introduced to the principles of authentic recovery and begin to foster meaningful connections with peers. The overarching goal of our 90-day program is to help clients identify and mitigate relapse triggers, alleviate mental health symptoms, and acquire coping skills for managing challenges. Additionally, individuals with unresolved trauma can commence their
journey towards healing, removing barriers to successful recovery. Moreover, The Lodge serves as a platform for clients to build recovery capital within the Carbondale community. Engaging in daily physical activities, both enjoyable and challenging, is integral to the Jaywalker experience.
Immersing oneself in the natural beauty of the mountains offers a fresh perspective on life, contributing significantly to personal growth and sobriety. At Jaywalker Lodge, we firmly believe that effective long-term treatment must embrace the promises of our future in recovery, rather
than dwell on the consequences of our past in addiction.
Jaywalker’s open community model of care is built on the principles of inclusivity, accountability, and mutual support. In this model, individuals in recovery are encouraged to actively engage with their peers and the broader community, fostering a sense of belonging and connection. This open community approach recognizes that addiction recovery is not a solitary journey, but rather a collective effort that thrives on collaboration and shared experiences.
At Jaywalker, clients are empowered to take ownership of their recovery journey while benefiting from the guidance and support of peers and staff members. The open community model emphasizes the importance of authenticity, vulnerability, and accountability, creating a safe space for individuals to explore their challenges and celebrate their successes. Through group therapy sessions, peer support groups, and community activities, clients at Jaywalker have the opportunity to develop meaningful connections, build a support network, and cultivate essential life skills for sustained sobriety. The open community model of care promotes a culture of honesty, integrity, and personal responsibility, empowering individuals to embrace recovery as a lifelong journey of growth and transformation.
A Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) is a type of intensive outpatient treatment. It’s a hybrid program, taking valuable aspects of both traditional inpatient and outpatient treatment and combining them into one program. The most intensive form of outpatient care.
Partial hospitalization offers a similar level of medical care, support, and monitoring that an inpatient program does while also allowing the person the freedom and flexibility to come to the facility for treatment and then return to their living residence like they would with traditional outpatient treatment.
One of the biggest benefits of a partial hospitalization program is the structure and support the program often provides. With partial hospitalization, you are given a daily schedule much like you would with inpatient treatment. That schedule has the time and locations of all your various treatments and therapy sessions allowing you to effectively plan out your day.
While those participating in partial hospitalization get to take advantage of the structure and support that comes with inpatient treatment, they also get the flexibility and freedom of our open community model. This allows those Jaywalkers to seek treatment while still being able to fulfill their daily commitments and responsibilities.
Another benefit of PHP is that you can practice all the skills you learned that day not just in real-time but also in real-world settings. This includes coping mechanisms, stress reduction, and relapse prevention skills. Plus, if you find yourself struggling with the implementation of these skills, you know that you will be back the next day to seek advice and support.
Partial Hospitalization Programs offer a structured daily schedule full of various therapies, treatments, and fun activities. PHPs are customized and tailored to meet the individual’s specific needs and goals.
The Lodge is our 90-day comprehensive partial hospitalization program, providing relapse treatment for adult men seeking freedom from drug and alcohol addiction. The program is a clinical multi-modal with integrated mental health and chemical dependency programming combined with a robust sober community.
Jaywalkers participating in the Lodge will be given a weekly schedule that will consist of individual and group therapy sessions with licensed addiction counselors, medical staff, fitness/wellness specialists, and mental health care professionals. There will also be ample time provided for various recreational outdoor activities in and around the Rocky Mountains.
While residential treatment programs provide round-the-clock supervision and support, PHPs offer a balance between structured treatment and independence. PHPs are an excellent option for individuals who have completed a residential program but still require intensive support during their early recovery phase, or for those who need a higher level of structure and support but are unwilling or unable to enter into an inpatient program.
Compared to traditional outpatient programs, PHPs provide a higher level of care and support. PHPs typically involve more hours of treatment per week and offer a more structured environment. This level of intensity is beneficial for individuals who require more support than an outpatient program can provide but do not need the 24-hour supervision that comes with residential treatment.
While many private insurance providers cover partial hospitalization, the extent of that coverage varies based on the insurance provider and insurance policy. At Jaywalker Lodge we work with many private insurance companies to help their clients get the treatment they need at a price they can afford. If you want to learn more about what your insurance provider does or does not cover, you can reach out to your insurance representative or you can fill out our insurance verification form. We will look over your policy and let you know what is and isn’t covered before starting treatment.
Anyone who is male, active, and healthy enough to participate in various mountain wilderness activities, and willing and able to commit to a minimum of 90 days is a candidate for our partial hospitalization program at Jaywalker. Additionally, The Lodge is ideal for individuals who require intensive treatment and support but do not require round-the-clock supervision. They may have completed a residential program, experienced a setback in their recovery, or need a higher level of care due to the severity of their addiction.
