What the heck are Beignets and who the heck is CCYPAA ?
Well, Beignets are luscious French Doughnuts and CCYPAA ( say: see see paw ) is the Colorado Conference of Young People in Alcoholics Anonymous.
Tonight, (Saturday March 1st) the Young and Restless Meeting of AA is hosting a Fundraising Spaghetti Dinner beginning at 6 PM at the First United Methodist Church in Glenwood Springs. The cost is $ 7 with all proceeds benefiting CCYPAA. After dinner there will be Games, fellowship, and fun.
Many Jaywalkers and Jaywalker Alumni had the opportunity to participate in the annual CCYPAA conference a couple of years ago when it was hosted in Aspen. It was an awesome experience to see our young people and the young at heart share the message of Alcoholic Anonymous. I have had the opportunity to share at the Friday night Young and Restless meeting and it is a vibrant and passionate group who truly embrace a life in sobriety. As a bonus they gather after meeting at The Village Inn for Pie and fellowship !
Make plans to come out and show support for our young people in recovery. I have the honor of being the “young at heart” bus driver taking a group of Jaywalker “young” men to the event.
