We kicked off our second JWU workshop yesterday. This was another opportunity for the students, staff, and members of the community to learn more about how everyday life and communication can be tied into addiction. Patty English, Dr. of Communication Studies at Gustavus Adolphus College, helped us explore new ways of journaling, skill building, and different forms of communication. This was a great opportunity for some of the students to learn more about their addiction and communication. Many of the students this semester are taking Interpersonal Communication, this was a great way for them to get a head start on the semester and learn some things about themselves. We have learned that it is much easier to understand and be passionate about a subject when it has a direct effect on us, and this is exactly what Patty showed us yesterday. Everyone at Jaywalker would like to thank Patty for helping us think outside the box. We hope to see you all for next week’s Wednesday Workshop from 9-12pm hosted by A New Path.
