Tension and Trauma Releasing Exercises (TRE)
Tension and Trauma Releasing Exercises (TRE) at the Advanced International Symposium: Addictive Disorders, Behavioral Health and Mental Health in Colorado Springs
(TRE) Trauma Releasing Exercises are a cutting edge technique in stress reduction, tension releasing and the healing of trauma. David Berceli, Ph.D. is the creator of this method.
TRE consists of a set of simple physical exercises designed to release the chronic muscular tension that is held deep within the structure of the body. TRE is intended to be used as a self-help method that is easily learned, has immediate effects and can be integrated into a simple daily routine to help restore a sense of inner-peace and relaxation.
We have been using the TRE exercises at the Jaywalker Solutions Program since 2010. The men have personally endorsed TRE as a stress management tool.
The first picture shows Dr. Berceli teaching TRE to the military. The second picture of the 3 Amigos from the Jaywalker Marketing team was taken in Colorado Springs while they were practicing the TRE exercises in Colorado Springs. I felt supported by our team when I saw Bob (not in picture), Mike, John, and Pat in the audience.
On Sunday, January 26, 2014, I had the opportunity to be one of the first presenters at the Symposium. When Jeff Jones (Boulder) and I decided to used TRE to target Counselor Resilience, Compassion Fatigue and Adjunctive Treatment for Addiction and Therapy, we hoped the Symposium participants would find this interesting. We were more than pleasantly surprised to have the room fill up with over 100 people. What an exhilarating experience!
