“The only thing that you absolutely have to know, is the location of the library” Albert Einstein
One of the many blessings of Recovery is the gift of “Time”. Life in sobriety gives us the time and opportunity to engage in many activities we once enjoyed before addiction consumed our lives. We can now find great enjoyment and satisfaction in many of life’s simple pleasures, such as reading a good book or researching a topic of interest. Jaywalker volunteers had the opportunity this week to help organize and set up for the semi-annual Gordon Cooper library book sale which provides funds for library resources. A new 13,000 square foot library is being built on the corner of Third and Sopris streets, just a few blocks from Jaywalker. The new library is scheduled to open later this summer. The facility will feature a 100-person meeting room, as well as space for public art throughout the interior and exterior. Jaywalker Lodge is proud to be one of the sponsors of the “Pillars of Light” permanent art installation by local artist, Shannon Muse of Paradise Art Glass. The multi-part sculptural piece will form the seven entryway columns on the front porch of the new library. Jaywalker Lodge is honored to be part of this burgeoning community and committed to supporting its cultural and educational initiatives.
