Paintball

The new clients at The Landing joined the students from Jaywalker U for a friendly game of paintball. Feelings ranged from anticipation to downright terror as the Landing suffered multiple defeats to the more experienced U team. Hundreds of rounds of paintballs flew for several hours before ammunition ran out and exhaustion set in. While the battle itself was outrageous fun, perhaps the most valuable time that day was spent off the course as fresh faces to the Jaywalker Lodge Experience were able to interact with a group of soon to be peers that had once stood in their shoes. The students at Jaywalker U shared experiences about what it was like for them upon arrival in Carbondale. As the conversation flowed, the men from the Landing became more comfortable amongst their new group of friends, taking one more important step towards settling into their new home.

Stefan Bate, BA, MA, LAC holds a Master's Degree in Applied Psychology from Regis University and is a Licensed Addiction Counselor in the state of Colorado. Stefan has wide-ranging experience in the field of addiction recovery including: working as a recovery coach, therapist, and program director.
