This weekend Aspen Snowmass ski area opened with over 600 acres of ski-able terrain and several inches of fresh snow that had accumulated consistently during the week leading up to the much-anticipated event. We were in the lift line 45 minutes before the first lift started spinning. That was ample time to whip out the camp stove and prepare sausage and eggs in line. As I scanned the faces in the crowd, I found several groups of fellow Jaywalker Alumni fidgeting nervously in line, waiting for the rope to drop. The skiing was superb and my legs were not ready for the powder day. By 1pm we were heading back to the parking lot, filled with gratitude for such an incredible opening day shared with friends. Here’s to a good season.
