The Aspen Hope Center exists to make sure that people know they are not alone; it’s a local organization with a passion to help others.”
To bring awareness to Suicide Prevention Month and to give people life-saving information, Aspen Hope Center is offering free Suicide Prevention training from Aspen to Rifle. The national, evidence -based suicide prevention training is called Question, Persuade, and Refer (QPR). This community training is an integral part of the Aspen Hope Center’s mission of community outreach and education. Aspen has traditionally had one of the highest suicide rates in the country, the hope center has offered QPR training to more than 2000 residents in the Valley to recognize signs of suicidal behavior and learn ways to get a person help before a suicide occurs.
Learn how to save a life by attending the free classes being offered at various sites throughout the valley. The Carbondale training will be conducted Tuesday Night, September 10, from 5:30 to 6:30 PM at the Carbondale Fire Station. It is recommended to RSVP to 925-5858 to ensure seating.
