We would like to announce the addition of Jon Lencioni to the Jaywalker team, as Alumni Coordinator. Jon’s ability to lead and understand the Jaywalker community is unapparelled and we are thrilled to have him in this position.
Jon grew up in Menlo Park, Ca. Being outside playing sports was always his passion. At an early age, Jon started “experimenting” with drugs and alcohol which soon turned in to a full-blown addiction. This caused his pursuit of his passion for the outdoors and sports to fade. After high school, Jon took some time away from education and his addiction only worsened. In 2009, Jon went back to school and attended a local community college in the Bay Area. He then transferred to San Diego State University where he pursued a degree in Entrepreneurship. It was in San Diego that his use caught up with his. He knew he had no other option than to seek professional help. In the summer of 2014, Jon came to Jaywalker Lodge. After completing the Lodge program, Jon stumbled in his recovery. However, this was where he saw the true power of the Alumni Program. It was Jaywalker’s Alumni that helped him get in to a local detox facility. It was the Alumni who let Jon stay on their couch until he was able to get in to a local sober living facility. Jon has truly experienced the power of the Alumni community and has a true passion for his role as Alumni Coordinator. Today, Jon is able to pursue his passion for the outdoors and sports. It was Jaywalker and the Roaring Fork Valley that gave Jon this gift. He enjoys mountain biking, hiking, camping, snowboarding, and dirt biking. Moreover, he enjoys being able to share his passion for the outdoors with the Alumni Community as brothers in recovery.
