With the summer heat reaching record highs, alumni and staff head to the beautiful Colorado rivers to fish and relax. Fly fishing has proven to be a great way to cool down both physically and mentally. Fly fishing is a type of fishing that involves using an artificial fly. It is different from traditional fishing methods in that anglers cast a hook that resembles an insect or ‘fly’, as opposed to using worms or other bait. It sounds much easier than it actually is. Fly fishing requires intense concentration and quick reflexes which makes it one of the biggest and most challenging sports here in the Roaring Fork Valley.
