A few weeks ago clients and staff from Jaywalkers’ Landing program ventured to Moab to tackle the hikes and bikes the high desert has to offer. Mornings consisted of family breakfast followed by group led by program supervisor Brendon Kerton. The men spent a couple hours studying the 12 steps, focusing on Step One, outlining the powerless and unmanageability in their lives. The afternoons were spent cruising around Moab’s various mountain bike trails; the guys pedaled hard and made it to the top of some amazing vistas. In the evenings the guys sat around the fire making dinner, laughing, and playing cards. The expedition was a success as the men came together in the pursuit of joy in recovery.
