Jaywalker would like to congratulate its very own, Ed Milos, on celebrating 3 years of continuous sobriety today. Ed came to Jaywalker Lodge three years ago from Massachusetts where he had been battling drug addiction since the age of 14. After graduating The Lodge program, Ed moved into a local sober house where he developed a love for the outdoors. One of Ed’s favorite hobbies is playing hockey, and because of his drug addiction and a tragic injury in high school was unable to play. Since getting sober he has been able to play the sport that he loves so much and help others find their passions as well.
After volunteering for Jaywalker for over a year, Ed was hired in August 2011 as an overnight residential tech and has since moved to the full time day shift. When congratulated about his 3 years of sobriety Ed stated, “I am extremely grateful to every person who helped me get here. I had to wake up every morning and use just to function. It feels amazing to not be that person anymore and I couldn’t have done without the help of my friends and family.” Ed has been a perfect example of what recovery can do for us and the person we can become. Congratulations Ed!
