/  Jaywalker   /   Collegiate Recovery Community Conference

CRC

Last week Jaywalker U (JWU) Program Director, Janet DeMars, and Program Coordinator, Donnie Hagenbart, headed to Lubbock TX for the Fourth National Collegiate Recovery Community (CRC) Conference which was hosted by Texas Tech and the Center for the Study of Addiction and Recovery (CSAR). This was a great opportunity for the Jaywalker staff to collaborate with other CRCs; this conference provided the JWU staff the time to network with the nearly 80 CRCs across the nation.  Knowing about the many CRCs that are in existence will provide the JWU students an opportunity to continue their college education at a school that understands and takes seriously the need for providing recovery services to those students who have faced addiction and are on the other side.  We are truly grateful for the stance that many colleges across the nation have taken in regards to the recovery movement.  Without this, many students would not have the safety net to return to college as a recovering student.
