August Alumni Races
Leadville 100 & Mt Sneffels 13.1
Over the weekend we had multiple Jaywalkers racing in Colorado. First was the Leadville Trail 100 MTB race, which is a grueling race with 12,000 feet of climbing all above 9,000 feet elevation. Three men competed in Leadville, one being Dave K. who came in 17th overall with a time of 7:07. Leadville 100MTB rookie Breton M. smashed his debut and came in with a time of 8:25, which is well under the cutoff for a big buckle trophy. Jaywalker Alum Bob M. set out to do something a little bigger for this race. He raised $11,500 for Shatterproof which is a national organization that is dedicated to fighting addiction. Bob also hammered out a 9:17 in the race, and exemplified the spirit of service.
Secondly, we had two men run the Mt. Sneffels Half Marathon in Ouray, CO. Seth H. and Ryan M. both ran great races on Saturday. They set out to climb Mt. Sneffels on Sunday which is one of Colorado’s many 14ers. Seth describes it as one of the most fun weekends he has ever had. Great work guys!
