Photography and Community

Here are the Solutions men participating in an ongoing Photography class with local photographer, Sue Drinker. She gave each person a sweet potato, (yes, a sweet potato) with the task of developing a photographic relationship with it. Sue gave the men pointers about photography design, color, lighting etc. The men then took to using programs such a Photoshop to take their creative process to another level.

A little background follows about the weaving of our connections in the Roaring Fork Valley. Scott Gilbert, Head of Habitat for Humanity offered free tickets for the 2/2/13, Dream Like a Champion, presentation by renowned National Geographic Photographer, Dick Durrance. Dick and Sue are married and have worked together on numerous photography projects. During Dick’s Photography presentation, Scott Gilbert offered a public heartfelt thanks for the Solutions men and all their volunteer work at Habitat.

While at the Third Street Center for class, the men met photographer, George Stranahan. He is graciously allowing the men to use studio and decked out computers for this photography class.
