The goals of the Jaywalker Lodge family program are one, for family members to join their loved ones on a journey of self-discovery and two, to have a genuine experience here. We want them to become a part of our Jaywalker family and make them feel at home in our house.

The goals of the Jaywalker Lodge family program are one, for family members to join their loved ones on a journey of self-discovery and two, to have a genuine experience here. We want them to become a part of our Jaywalker family and make them feel at home in our house. One of our many mottos here is ‘The closer you look, the better we look’ and we are so proud of our men and want our families to feel our pride and see our genuine love for them.
Our men are on a journey of self-discovery and change. Families, faced with change have but two ways of dealing with that change… They accommodate the change or they resist the change. Resisting change can place an already precarious early stage recovery in jeopardy. We want to drive home what was started during the primary family programs. Our family members leave Jaywalker Lodge with love in their heart, knowing we are doing our best for their loved ones, that they are safe, happy and on a real path toward a meaningful life and with their disease successfully arrested.
Taking the family program into the 21st century, we allow the program participants to experience the family in early recovery in a special way. The men often think they will get beat up by their families; never happens here. Instead, the families join the process by telling their family story, bonding with other family members and experiencing the family in new and creative ways, allowing for new perspectives to flourish and old beliefs and behaviors to subside. Our surveys consistently show high level of satisfaction, often exclaiming “it’s the best experience of the journey so far.”
