Ginny received a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Syracuse University in Syracuse, NY. As an avid backpacker, climber, and traveler Ginny divided her time between guiding small groups throughout Alaska, Canada, and the “Lower 48” and teaching special education high school students on Maui, Hawaii. Ginny returned to the mainland for graduate school at Naropa University in Boulder, Colorado. There she received her Master’s degree in Transpersonal Counseling Psychology with an emphasis in Wilderness Therapy. Ginny has worked in conjunction with the Boulder County Probation providing education, group therapy, and individual counseling for drug and alcohol offenders. She has also worked as a wilderness therapist for a transitional living program in Boulder, supporting young men in recovery. Ginny’s work combines her wilderness guiding experience, contemplative perspectives, and transpersonal psychotherapy to support clients in fostering healthy relationships with self, others, higher power and the environment. She has been on the clinical team at Jaywalker Lodge drug and alcohol treatment center since 2005. Ginny is a licensed profession counselor and certified addictions counselor in the State of Colorado. She is currently in the licensure process for addictions counselors. |
