Peyton Celebrates 3

On Tuesday, our very own, Peyton Ward celebrated 3 yrs of continuous sobriety! Peyton came to Jaywalker Lodge in the winter of 2013. He had a lot work on and he went about doing just that. In the 3 short years Peyton has been in our community he has gone from client, to tech, to alumni coordinator. He has also gone from addict to Ironman completing his first full Ironman last August. Peyton is a colleague and a good personal friend. I’m very proud of him and I hope you all join me in extending him a huge congratulations on his 3 years on continuous recovery! Brendon Kerton, M.A. Landing Program Supervisor Jaywalker Lodge

Lenny Celebrates 8

Lenny sober living

Congratulations to Jaywalker’s own King of Aftercare, Lenny Beaulieu, for celebrating 8 years of sobriety.  He is a man of simple tastes: golf, cigars, Harleys, steak, and jumping out of airplanes.  Let go and let God or the parachute.  Skydiving is the ultimate test of faith and enjoyment of life; a metaphor for the values of a recovering person.  Lenny lives his life with faith and enjoyment.   He is an avid outdoors man, spending his early years working for Outward Bound.  He has also completed the Grand Canyon section of the Colorado River many times.  Lenny’s incredible life journey finally landed him as the Director of Outpatient Services at Jaywalker. I have had the pleasure of co-facilitating the outpatient groups with Lenny.  It has been a great experience for me to learn from his counseling style.  Lenny carries the message of the 12 steps with power and grace.  He has…

Dave K Celebrates 4

Dave K sober living

Today we celebrate 4 years clean and sober for Jaywalker Expedition Assistant Dave Krimstock.  It has been an honor for me to know Dave since he decided to come to Jaywalker.  When Dave first arrived, the seed of sobriety had only just been planted.  I watched him as he watered and nurtured that seed.  It got plenty of sun and started to grow and blossom.  Just like his facial hair, it needs to get trimmed and maintained from time to time.  Dave is like a beautiful recovery flower. He likely holds the record for most homemade chocolate chippers eaten on a consecutive basis.  My best guess is the number is around 75-125 consecutive days.  Endurance athletes are now calling this particular training method “The Kornelius”. Dave has amazing determination and focus as daily strengths.  He has the ability to shut out the negative thoughts and push his body beyond the…

Congrats Stanley

On March 10, Stanley Jones celebrates his third consecutive year in sobriety. Through out and during the past three years Stanley has become one of my closest friends. I have watched him grow and mature but most importantly I have seen him impact the lives of many. By being an honest, loyal, outgoing and dedicated member of our community Stanley has become a true example of what we as Jaywalker Lodge alumnus and employee’s stand for. I remember meeting Stanley when I was early in my recovery and we almost immediately became very close friends. Even though most of our friendship I have spent struggling physically behind him on mountain bikes, I can say that myself and many others have been truly motivated and inspired by his dedication to sobriety and his courage along the way. Today is a special day for him and those who know him because Stanley…
