Colorado Mountain College (CMC) is offering two more bachelor’s degrees for the upcoming 2015 fall semester! CMC will be offering a bachelor’s degree in Leadership and Management as well as a bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies: Elementary Education. This brings the total of bachelor’s degree programs to five. The past Friday, March 13th and Saturday, March 14th, Carbondale Community Arts and Humanities (CCAH) produced their 7th Annual Green is the New Black Fashion Show. Their theme this year was: Underground. The performance was full of locals, performance art, inspiring sustainable fashion and a storyline to boot, this show isn’t just entertaining– it was about raising money to educate our youth in the Roaring Fork Valley. While the show and its designers created a lot of buzz, the sole purpose of this show is to make Arts education more accessible for youth in our community. The show took place at the Carbondale Recreation Center, but they were able to transform this space into a spectacular, city-esque, fashion runway. The Fall 2014 semester at Colorado Mountain College has come to an end here at Jaywalker. What has been demonstrated each semester here at Jaywalker is that recovery and academic success go hand-in-hand. Self-esteem improves dramatically with each successful credit earned and the joy of living is enhanced. The men at Jaywalker are learning that they can be productive members of a college campus while living a sober life.
